I was looking at some help. It might be easy to find someone help you with a job and a meal. But when it comes to resolving your inner demons, there is no help, you are all alone in this world. You have to resolve your anger issues, your helplessness all on your own. You have to work on your thoughts and your mindset. A guru is the only person who can help. It is said when the disciple is ready, the guru appears. So Pema appeared in the form of this book.
Off all the philosophers I am listening to I found their advise a bit harsh. We all have our inner child, but all the male philosophers are tough like fathers, they tell you that life is a rut. But then Pema Chodron comes across tender and loving. She helps you swallow the bitter pill. She talks of compassion and discipline (which is not forced).
